4L Academy was founded by Aaron Baer and Brent Winston in 2021.
Aaron and Brent met while practicing law at a leading Canadian law firm when Aaron was a senior associate and Brent joined as a 1st year. They had offices next to each other, and Aaron took on the unofficial role of mentoring Brent.
Brent had lots of good questions, and Aaron generally refused to give him the answers without also explaining to him other relevant facts (including how things fit into the bigger picture).
In university, Aaron and Brent each studied the exact same thing (a dual degree in business and law), they each tutored business students extensively, and they each built resources to help make things easier for the people who followed them. Aaron graduated 5 years before Brent, so there was absolutely no overlap - they were just on very similar journeys.
